O.K. – so my regular blog keeps giving me problems I guess I should just post all of my posts to this one too so I’m always up-to-date!

Here are my latest doodles… I was down in the dumps after being laid off work… they kind of represent the kind of mood I was in.  I hope you enjoy! :)

Small town… Big talent…

February 24, 2010

I live in a small town in northern Georgia, called Woodstock – but it’s filled with a lot of great talent.  Some of the artists here sell their paintings internationally and I have the privilege of sharing gallery space with them. One of the galleries here in Woodstock, is called Roomscapes Gallery and Heartworks Studio.

They are tucked in a shopping center back behind the old train station that has been converted into the Right Wing Cafe on Main Street in downtown Woodstock (their official address is 390 Chambers Street, Woodstock, GA 30189).

In the front – is a space filled with beautiful works of art, paintings, prints, jewelry, pottery, climbing the walls up to the lofty ceilings. In the back you can sometimes hear laughter of fellow artists as they are creating new pieces of art. Sharing techniques, stories of their families, and local news.

If you are ever in the area, please make it a point to drop by and take a look. Especially try to make it by March 5th. The theme will be Friday Night Live there will be Mardi Gras on Main Street, the art featured in the gallery will be Black & White and there will be a fundraiser for The Big Read.

One of my black and white pieces featured in this show is shown below:

What a Great Cause…

February 23, 2010

I’ve recently started painting again – in fact – my most recent completed piece is the one for the Atlanta Furniture Bank’s annual Chairish The Future fundraiser that is hosted by Vern Yip.

Last year’s event raised a generous amount of money for many needy families and I’m sure will do the same again this year.  To learn more about this great organization – please visit their website and purchase tickets to attend this wonderful event!  http://www.chairishthefuture.com/

Busy Busy Busy Painting…

March 12, 2009

I did these over a course of a week or so…  I’ve been in the “zone” to paint and have to take advantage while I can… sometimes I go months without painting!

All pieces are unframed and the price does not include shipping & tax.

Experiment with Digital Art…

March 10, 2009

These are some pieces I did where I took a photograph, manipulated them with Photo Shop and printed them on watercolor or sketch paper.  Afterward I enhanced them more either with conte’ crayon or pen and ink or both.  I’d love your feedback – do you think I should do more?  I did football because at that time it was football season and that’s the only thing that was ever on t.v.!
